What stands out

  • Iron through Emerald play games of almost the same length, 29:29 to 30:32. Bronze has the longest.
  • Diamond games end about a minute sooner than Emerald's, and Master+ games another minute and a bit after that.
  • Thirty minutes is also the yardstick behind the per-game numbers on the vision score and wards pages.
  • Every other stat on this site is per minute where it can be, so a long game doesn't make anyone's farm or gold look better than it was.

Questions

How long is an average ranked game in League of Legends?

About 30 minutes. The typical ranked solo game runs 30:10 in Iron, 29:56 in Gold, 29:29 in Emerald and 27:20 in Master+.

Are higher ranked games shorter?

Yes, though only from Diamond up. Iron to Emerald all land within about a minute of each other, then Diamond drops to 28:34 and Master+ to 27:20.

Does game length include champion select or the queue?

No. It's the in-game clock from the start of the match to the end, as Riot's match data records it.

Are surrenders and remakes counted?

Remakes aren't. A game that ends in a surrender vote counts at the minute it ended, so it pulls the typical length down.

Built from 6,557 ranked solo matches played since December 2025 (patches 25.24 to 26.20), all on North America servers (na1). A match counts at the rank of the player whose history it came from. "Typical" is the middle game: half ran longer and half ended sooner. Remakes are left out. Updated October 2026.
